Perth Azzurri Strengthens Operations with Key Appointment

Feb 13, 2026

The 2026 season is shaping up to be one of the most transformative in the storied history of Perth Azzurri.

As we move closer to our landmark amalgamation with the WA Italian Club, the Board of Management is committed to ensuring our off-field structure is as elite as our on-field performance.

To lead this professional evolution, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Tass Kalogirou as our full-time Football Operations Manager.

Tass joins the Azzurri family in a newly created, whole-of-club role designed to oversee the administrative and operational heartbeat of both our Junior and Senior football programs.

Bringing over 16 years of professional experience, Tass has worked across three continents in professional club and academy environments. Most recently the Administration Officer at Subiaco AFC, his background as a Technical Director and Head Coach gives him a 360-degree understanding of what a championship-winning club needs to thrive.

“My goal is to support Perth Azzurri in continuing its success while helping position the club as the best in Perth through clear structures and measurable outcomes,” Kalogirou said.

Tass will report to Perth Azzurri Board Member Christian Marocchi, who chairs the club’s Football Operations Committee, on senior matters and Board Member Mauro Stocco regarding the junior portfolio.

The introduction of a full-time Football Operations Manager allows our dedicated administrative team to focus their expertise where it matters most:

Tass Kalogirou (Football Operations Manager): Your primary contact for all football-related queries, operational duties and assistance. Tass will also be visible on the pitch as the coach of our U16 JDL Boys.

Margaret Trinca (Club Secretary): Continues her role as the lead for Board-related matters and general club enquiries. She will also assist Tass on football-related matters given her significant corporate knowledge and experience dealing with Football West expertise.

Fiona Ellis (Accounts): Remains in her role in accounts and all-round troubleshooter for the club on all non-related football matters.

President Jason Marocchi emphasised that this restructure is about preparation, not just paperwork.

“The appointment of Tass is designed to raise professional standards and align our on-field efforts ahead of our upcoming merger with our friends at the WA Italian Club,” Marocchi said.

Please join us in giving Tass a warm welcome when you see him around Dorrien Gardens or Forrest Park.

We ask for your patience during this transition period as we refine our internal processes to better serve our players, parents, members and community.
