A 96th minute looping header by Azzurri captain David Ninkovich rescued a deserved point for Perth SC against Stirling Macedonia at Dorrien Gardens on Friday Night in game two of the 2025 Night Series.
Coby Sutton’s long ball picked Ninkovich’s run just outside the box and his glancing header looped over the Stirling keeper and into the back of the net, sparking wild celebrations at Dorrien Gardens.
Stirling went into the break 2-0 up after goals from Sam Wynne and Sam Dweh, but the Azzurri were much better in the second half and actually scored four times – with the referee cancelling out Daniel Faichney’s tap in for offisde and Gordon Perkins’ header for a foul on the keeper.
Perkins got the Azzurri’s opener in the 65th minute which set up a strong finish and finally a well deserved point.
Perth SC now have four points after two games in the Night Series and will play Sorrento next Saturday at Macedonia Park, kicking off at 6.30pm.
