I just wanted to provide an update on our proposed amalgamation with the WA Italian Club and the Dorrien Gardens precinct redevelopment.
The member vote to merge our club with the WA Italian Club will now take place in the first quarter of 2026, rather than at our December AGM as first proposed.
The boards of both clubs need some extra time to finalise a Constitution for the amalgamation and a business plan for the consideration of our members.
We do not want to rush such an important process and want to ensure our members have enough time to process all of the information required to make an informed decision on the future of our clubs.
Perth Azzurri and the WA Italian Club are still both committed to the amalgamation. It is the best way forward to ensure the future success and sustainability of our great clubs.
In terms of the redevelopment, our clubs are working with the State Government on the planning process for the project. We are also exploring private sector opportunities to ensure we maximise value for our members as part of the project.
Perth Azzurri’s AGM will take place on Wednesday December 10. Our Christmas dinner will be on Friday December 12. I look forward to seeing you at these two events and I’m happy to answer any questions you may have on the amalgamation and redevelopment.
